Our Story

The Inspiration Behind Wackadoodle

Any parent knows how tricky it can be to keep busy little
bees interested in an activity for longer than a few minutes, and colouring in
is no exception. As a mom of lively little ones myself, I was in need of more
open-ended toys that could encourage them to invent their own games and keep
them engaged for longer. So, the idea was sparked to create non-toxic crayons
that could make the fun last beyond colouring! We wanted to create versatile crayons
with endless free-play possibilities. We searched far and wide for the most
wonderfully wacky shapes to bring our colourful characters to life, and even
created a few of our own from scratch! The unique shapes make for the perfect
pretend-play figurines, stacking toys or counters. Watch your kids create a
rich imaginary world with our quirky characters!

Bye Bye Bloom

A new & improved recipe with no more white residue

Our original crayon recipe included 100% natural beeswax, which
produced a whiteish residue (bloom) on the crayons after a while. Although this
was a normal occurrence in beeswax products that did not affect the quality of
our crayons, we found that replacing natural beeswax with synthetic beeswax, allowed
us to create a formula that keeps crayons free from any residue.

There’s more good news: the synthetic beeswax that we use in our recipe is still non-toxic
and safe for little ones!

That means you can be confident that your kids won’t
be exposed to harmful toxins when using Wackadoodle crayons.

Unfortunately, our crayons are not vegan, the synthetic beeswax that we use still contains a small amount of natural beeswax. However, we are always on the lookout for ways to expand and improve our product so check back with us in a few months.

  • Allergens

Our crayons contain synthetic beeswax, Cocoa Butter, Carnauba Wax and natural food colouring.
If there is anything that your child is allergic to that you are unsure of, please feel free to contact us.
  • 12M+

Our crayons are recommended for ages 12 months and up. Children under the age of three tend to enjoy our bigger shapes more as they are easy to hold and scribble with.
Our smaller crayons require more developed fine motor skills to colour in with , so these would be easier for 3 years+ to use.
  • Choking Hazard

Please do not leave your toddler (ages under three years old) unattended while playing with the crayons. Little pieces of crayons could break off and can be a chocking hazard for small children.
  • Crayon Care

The crayons should be stored in a cool, dry place at 25 degrees. The crayons do not melt easily but will eventually melt if left in the sun for a prolonged period of time.
The crayons can get wet , and simply dried off and can also be used as bath crayons.
  • Non-Toxic

Our ingredients are considered non-toxic and is safe for little ones. However, your toddler should still not be encouraged to eat the crayons as it could be a choking hazard and cause an upset stomach if eaten in excessive amounts.
